I think gourmet might one of the most over used words of the tens, and I am sorry to say that it is misplaced in the burger that I did my best to enjoy.
First off the burger was not that bad, it was just not that good for the price, which was £10, I could have got a better burger at burger king, no insult to burger king, there burgers are good and a lot cheaper.
When ordering a gourmet burger one might imagine a burger like the ones at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, but alas this was not the case.
The chips where OK, the role was not overly fresh, the burger was dense and slab like. The sald was limp.
This review was written in January soon after our vist, perhaps the pub is in slow mode, out of season or such forth, I have had meals there is he past and they have been good.
On the plus side there burger was locally sourced, which is good to see. For what is normaly an excellent pub, I put this disappoint down to a out of season lull.
